Originating from Native American culture, a "dreamcatcher" is a small, suspended handcrafted object. According to popular belief, it has the power to ward off nightmares that disturb its owner's sleep. Bad dreams are thus trapped in its webs, usually in the shape of rosettes. While traditionally hung near a window so that the sun's rays burn away trapped nightmares at dawn, it has now become a true decorative object that can adorn any room in the house.
