Since its creation in 1931 by Jean de Brunhoff, Babar has become one of the most emblematic characters in children's literature. With his famous green suit, his crown and his legendary elegance, the king of elephants has accompanied children for several generations in a world filled with adventures, discoveries and tenderness.
This charming abecedary celebrates the world of Babar through a series of gentle scenes illustrating the different moments of his daily life. Through the letters of the alphabet, we find the famous elephant with his family, on a walk, in the bath, in the kitchen or comfortably settled in his armchair. The multicoloured letters bring cheerfulness and freshness to the whole, while the many small decorative details bring life to this composition delicately inspired by the original albums.
Presented here as a framed picture, this work makes an ideal decoration for a child's bedroom, a playroom or a reading corner. Its timeless style will appeal to cross-stitch enthusiasts and admirers of the famous king of elephants alike.
The pattern was embroidered on an 11-thread/cm linen fabric in B5200 colour from DMC. This fabric provides a particularly refined finish while highlighting the many shades of colour used in the composition. You can also make this work on an Aïda 5.5 stitches/cm fabric. The final dimensions will remain very similar and will offer an equally harmonious result. White, ecru or natural fabrics are perfectly suited to this abecedary and underline the tender and elegant spirit of Babar's world.
The charts are printed with symbols and colours (DMC ref.) on 6 pages.
