Highly prized at the end of the 19th century, "barbotines" (slipware) marked the history of tableware with their generous forms and nature-inspired decorations. Long present in bourgeois interiors and country houses, they still appeal today to lovers of antique objects and authentic decoration.
This elegant embroidered composition pays homage to them through a refined work that captures all the charm of these decorative ceramics. Designed by Véronique Enginger and Création Point de Croix, this creation combines the delicacy of cross stitch with the subtle world of tableware. Soft colours, meticulous details, and plays of shadow bring depth and realism to the composition.
Inspired by antique collections of decorative dinnerware, this embroidery will naturally find its place in a kitchen, a dining room, or an interior with a romantic and timeless style.
The pattern was embroidered on a DMC 11 threads/cm ivory linen fabric, worked over 2 warp threads and 2 weft threads. This elegant fabric particularly highlights the subtle nuances of the composition and reinforces its vintage spirit. This creation can also be made on Aïda 5.5 stitches/cm fabric to obtain similar dimensions while facilitating the embroidery work, especially for beginner embroiderers.
The charts are printed with symbols and colours (DMC ref.) on 6 pages.
