A former fishing village that has become one of the most famous destinations in the Mediterranean, Saint-Tropez captivates travelers worldwide. Made legendary by Brigitte Bardot and 1950s cinema, this small port in the Var has managed to retain its authenticity while becoming a symbol of French glamour.
Throughout the seasons, Saint-Tropez reveals many facets. In summer, the quays come alive with prestigious yachts, sunny terraces, and elegant boutiques. Out of season, the village regains a peaceful atmosphere where it's pleasant to stroll through the colorful streets, admire the Provencal facades, and enjoy the Mediterranean way of life.
This cross-stitch creation captures the essence of Saint-Tropez through a luminous composition inspired by the port, its vibrant colors, and its unique atmosphere. Presented here as a decorative hanging, it will bring a touch of sunshine and escape to your home.
The pattern was stitched on DMC's 5.5 stitches/cm Aida fabric in ecru. This fabric allows for a delicate rendering of the landscape's many details while highlighting the typically Mediterranean color harmonies.
You can also create this design on an 11-thread/cm linen fabric, stitched over 2 warp threads and 2 weft threads. The resulting dimensions will be identical. Ecru, natural, or sand-colored fabrics particularly complement the warm hues of the south of France and enhance the Provencal spirit of this embroidery.
The charts are printed with symbols and colors (DMC reference) on 6 pages.
Design size: 165 × 227 stitches — approximately 30 × 41.3 cm on 11-thread/cm linen or 5.5 pts/cm Aida.
