The Royan Municipal Casino

A symbol of Royan's post-World War II reconstruction, the Municipal Casino is one of the most emblematic buildings on the seafront. Designed by architects Claude Ferret, Adrien Courtois, and Pierre Marmouget, it was inaugurated in 1960 and perfectly embodies the modernist architecture that characterizes the seaside resort. Built on the site of the former Square Botton, another popular promenade spot for visitors, the casino occupies a privileged position between the port and the main beach. With its elegant lines and ocean views, it remains today a remarkable testament to the 1950s and 1960s architecture that made Royan famous.

This cross-stitch creation highlights this iconic monument in a luminous composition inspired by the Atlantic coastline. An ideal embroidery for lovers of the Charente coast, seaside heritage, and modern architecture.

The pattern is embroidered on a celadon washed linen laptop sleeve lined with natural linen, entirely handmade in northern France. The embroidery area is made of 5.5 stitches/cm Aida fabric in sky blue, allowing for precise reproduction of all the design details. You can also create this design on 11 threads/cm linen fabric embroidered over 2 warp threads and 2 weft threads. Ecru, sand, or very pale blue fabrics will particularly highlight the maritime and luminous atmosphere of this scene inspired by the Atlantic coast.

The charts are printed with symbols and colors (DMC ref.) on 6 pages.

Pattern size: 180 × 148 stitches — approximately 32.7 × 26.9 cm on 11 threads/cm linen or 5.5 pts/cm Aida.
