The very extensive genus Prunus includes nearly 200 species of trees and shrubs belonging to the Rosaceae family. Prunus flowers, often simple, are composed of 5 sepals and 5 petals carried in clusters, in umbels, but also sometimes solitarily. Colors range from white to very dark pink, including all intermediate shades. In embroidery, they are simply superb!
