Antique samplers are true treasures of textile heritage. Behind each stitch lies the story of a diligent young embroiderer who patiently learned her alphabet, perfected her technique, and left a trace of her expertise. This charming piece was embroidered in 1876 by a girl of only nine — a touching testament to the learning of embroidery in the 19th century.

Reissued in collaboration with DMC and Création Point de Croix, this chart brings together all the characteristic elements of traditional samplers: carefully arranged alphabets, delicate floral motifs, and an elegant central wreath. An embroidery full of freshness and poetry, which has spanned generations without losing any of its charm.

The model was embroidered on 11-thread/cm DMC linen fabric, worked over 2 warp threads and 2 weft threads. This traditional support faithfully respects the spirit of antique works and particularly highlights the refined details and color harmonies of the motif.

This creation can also be made on 5.5-stitch/cm Aida fabric to facilitate the embroidery work while maintaining similar dimensions. Whichever support is chosen, the piece retains all the elegance and authenticity of 19th-century samplers.

The charts are printed with symbols and colors (DMC reference) on 6 pages.

Motif size: 224 stitches wide × 228 stitches high. Dimensions calculated for embroidery on 11-thread/cm linen embroidered over 2 warp threads and 2 weft threads, or on approximately 5.5-stitch/cm Aida fabric: 40.7 × 41.5 cm.
