I had a canvas coated in a "plaster" style reminiscent of a wall; it seemed well-suited for the subject, but rather difficult to embroider. You can choose off-white linen for embroidery, 10-11 threads per cm. There are fabric paints that can be used to "mattify" the support (test first). The velvety feel of wool (Aubusson wool or Saint-Pierre wool) was appealing, but you can also use stranded cotton. With wool, you'll need to use half-cross stitches due to the bulk of the thread, and with stranded cotton, you can embroider with cross-stitch (1 strand on a thread intersection of the canvas). The design was embroidered on white 11-count linen. To be embroidered on white or light-colored canvas.
The chart is printed with symbols and colors (Ref.: DMC) on 6 pages.
Pattern size: 78 stitches high x 151 stitches wide. If you embroider on 11-count linen, over 2 warp threads and 2 weft threads, or on 5.5-count Aida, your embroidery will measure approximately: 14.18 x 27.45 cm.
