Light, colourful and delicately arranged as if in a cabinet of curiosities, these butterflies spread their wings in a composition full of poetry. Inspired by naturalist collections of yesteryear, this painting brings together a multitude of imaginary species in dazzling hues, forming a true tribute to the beauty and diversity of the insect world.
This creation brings together an elegant collection of butterflies and small insects embroidered in cross-stitch. Harmoniously arranged in the centre of the work and framed by a floral border, they form a refined tableau that evokes ancient entomological plates and natural history museum displays.
The vivid colours of red, blue, green and pink delicately contrast with the light fabric and highlight every detail of the wings. Each butterfly has its own personality, offering a richly nuanced and particularly enjoyable piece to embroider.
The design can be framed or used as textile decoration, particularly as a chair back cover, as shown in the photographic staging.
This design was made on a 12-thread/cm unbleached linen fabric, embroidered over two warp threads and two weft threads.
Design size: approximately 220 stitches wide × 180 stitches high. Embroidery dimensions: approximately 40 × 32.7 cm on Aida 5.5 stitches/cm fabric or on 11-thread/cm linen fabric embroidered over 2 warp threads and 2 weft threads.
The chart is printed with black and white symbols (DMC ref.).
With its naturalist charm and luminous colours, this butterfly collection will bring a touch of lightness and elegance to your interior while celebrating the fascinating beauty of the living world.
