Traditional tea towels are among those everyday objects that transcend generations without ever losing their charm. Checked, striped, or adorned with embroidered initials, they immediately evoke the kitchens of yesteryear, large family gatherings, and simple gestures passed down from mother to daughter. This creation draws inspiration from this textile heritage to revive the timeless elegance of traditional household linen.
Designed by Véronique Enginger and Création Point de Croix, this embroidery plays with the codes of old kitchen towels. The checks, initials, and delicately embroidered details compose a work full of authenticity that seems straight out of an old trousseau. Blending tradition and refinement, this design will appeal to lovers of retro decor and beautiful embroideries inspired by French textile heritage.
The design was embroidered on a linen tea towel with a red border, specially designed for embroidery. This support particularly highlights the patterns and reinforces the nostalgic spirit of the creation while retaining its practical everyday aspect.
This creation can also be made on a DMC 11 threads/cm linen fabric, embroidered over 2 warp threads and 2 weft threads, or on Aida fabric 5.5 stitches/cm, to be framed or adapted for other decorative projects.
The charts are printed with symbols and colors (DMC ref.) on 6 pages.
