Chart: Christmas Cushions, Cross Stitch Design

Monochrome embroideries possess a timeless charm that elegantly transcends trends. Paired with pretty coordinated fabrics, they become true decorative elements capable of transforming a room's ambiance. These two Christmas cushions harmoniously blend cross-stitch, plain fabrics, and traditional gingham to create a warm, refined, and resolutely festive ensemble.

Designed by Création Point de Croix, these patterns play on the elegance of red and white, iconic colors of the festive season. The first cushion features a large, richly adorned decorative heart, while the second is decorated with a delicate repeated frieze reminiscent of traditional country house embroideries. The polka dot, plain, and gingham fabrics add depth and character to the ensemble while maintaining a beautiful visual harmony.

The pattern was embroidered on white 12-thread/cm linen fabric, worked over 2 warp threads and 2 weft threads. This luminous fabric particularly highlights the monochrome motifs and emphasizes the finesse of the embroidered details.

This creation can also be made on 11-thread/cm DMC linen fabric embroidered over 2 warp threads and 2 weft threads or on 5.5 stitches/cm Aida fabric to obtain slightly more generous dimensions while facilitating the embroidery work.

Rectangular cushion – Heart pattern: 100 stitches wide × 87 stitches high. Dimensions calculated for embroidery on 11-thread/cm linen fabric embroidered over 2 warp threads and 2 weft threads or on 5.5 stitches/cm Aida fabric: 18.2 × 15.8 cm.

Square cushion – Frieze pattern: 40 stitches wide × 35 stitches high (repeat pattern). Dimensions calculated for embroidery on 11-thread/cm linen fabric embroidered over 2 warp threads and 2 weft threads or on 5.5 stitches/cm Aida fabric: 7.3 × 6.4 cm per repeat.
